Abstract
Determinations of optimal location and travelling pathway of ambulance will be important for establishing emergency medical service system, but it is very difficult to determine whether for establishing emergency medical service system, but it is
very
difficult to determine whether sites are most optimal for ambulance stationing centers. Location theory advanced in the last decade can provide us with analytic techniques which help to formulate and to solve locational problems.
The purpose of this study was to suggest a model of determining optimal location of ambulance depots and travelling pathway for ambulance.
To determine optimal location and travelling pathway of emergency ambulance in Wonju city, we uses a mathmatical model modified from analytic techniques of location theory.
In conclusion, 5 points of ambulance depots were needed for optimal BLS (basic life support) response time (<5min.) and another 3 points were needed fro optimal ALS (advanced life support) response time (<8min.) in our mode.
